Early screening for breast cancer saves lives, that’s why the BreastCheck Manitoba Mobile Unit will be in The Pas from August 8th until the 23rd at The Pas Health Complex parking lot and on Opaskwayak Cree Nation at The Beatrice Wilson Health Centre on August 26th until the 28th.
Dena Johnson a community contact for Cancer Care Manitoba spoke to Arctic Radio News and said that breast cancer is one of the leading causes of death among woman and early screening increases the chances of survival. Johnson is a breast cancer survivor and her cancer was first discovered at a local BreastCheck screening.
