Aurora House and The Pas Friendship Centre Hold Spirit of the Red Dress Vigil

The Pas Friendship Centre and Aurora House held a spirit of the red dress vigil to commemorate the end of the inquiry into missing and murdered indigenous woman and girls.

The abduction and murder of Helen Betty Osborne was acknowledged during the event and our MLA Amanda Lathlin spoke about the impact of growing up during the time that Helen Betty Osborne’s murder was still fresh in everyone’s mind and how she overcame low self esteem and became an MLA.

They also had a pre recorded statement from Sandra Delaronde the co chair of the Manitoba Missing and Murdered indigenous Woman and Girls Coalition.

Dawna Prichard the executive director for Aurora House says the event overall exceeded her expectations.
