June 21st is National Indigenous Peoples Day and Kelsey Community School is having a variety of activities this week to celebrate.
Some of the events planned for the week include basic Cree language learning, bannock baking, tipi building and more. The school welcomes community members to stop by the school and check out the activities and events they have set up. These activities would not have been possible without the help of the Celebrate Canada Grant.
The indigenous people’s day’s celebrations will wrap up on Friday with a big event at the Metis Hall from 5 until 9 in the evening. There will be a concession, a youth booth, and a live stage show with musicians, drummers, and dancers.
