Davide Novo, the president of The Pas Families Building a Better Community Group conducted a presentation at Monday night’s committee of the whole meeting to give an update on the spray park project for the The Pas.
Novo said the committee wanted to know if the spray park would have an attendant to supervise the park and they also wanted to know what the hours of operation would be.
He clarified that spray parks don’t typically have attendants and that the park is programmable so the town can choose when to turn off the water and when to turn it on.
One of the next steps is to raise the remaining funds needed to complete the park which they plan to do that with a touch a truck event that is expected to be held in the near future.
Upgrades also need to be made to Centennial Park such as putting in new picnic tables and benches.
The parks foundation was put in back in October and once the snow melts the contractors will come back and finish the spray park.
Novo hopes to have the spray park operational in late June or early July of this year and they are planning to celebrate the grand opening of the park with a block party.
