During question period recently local MP Niki Ashton spoke about climate change in Canada in response to the news that Canada is warming faster than the rest of the world.
Ashton said the Liberal Government is defending Stephen Harpers climate targets and subsidizing the oil industry to the tune of billions of dollars and have spent 4.5 billion dollars to buy a pipeline.
Ashton asked when the government will take bold action to take on catastrophic climate change.
Liberal Minister of Environment and Climate Change Catherine McKenna concurred with Ashton that they need bold action to deal with climate change. She added that they have a climate plan with 50 measures where it is no longer free to pollute, and they are investing in renewables and clean solutions.
They are also ensuring energy efficiency measures so they can support businesses and other public places to save money so they can also take action on climate change.
