Since the use and sale of recreational cannabis became legal across Canada last fall, Opaskwayak Cree Nation has made investments in the new industry with National Access Cannabis. 

As a result of the investment, revenue is coming in better than expected. It has created 16 new jobs and lease revenue for the Otineka Mall.

OCN Chief Christian Sinclair says that being 10 percent owners of the company itself they now have over 22 retail locations across Canada and they are on the verge of opening another 53 this summer.
