During a Town of The Pas committee meeting last week, Shawna Hrappstead, owner and manager of the concession at the Roy H Johnston arena spoke to mayor and council regarding the town closing the arena and concession to students at lunch time on weekdays to try to get them to reconsider their deicison.

Earlier this month an altercation took place between two youth in the arena parking lot during lunch hour and an arena staff member was injured while trying to intervene. Due to the inicdent the Town of The Pas closed the arena concession to students during lunch to avoid future issues and to avoid putting staff members at risk,

After much discussion mayor and council agreed to reopen the concession to students during lunch hour on weekdays, so long as the students behave.

The concession is expected to operate under normal hours again in the new year
