The Pas Fire Department responded to a house fire on the 400 block of Taylor Avenue on Tuesday morning. The call came in shortly after 7AM and upon arrival they were notified that five residents of the home exited the building and were sent to the hospital.
Due to the age and the construction of the building it took a long time for the fire crews to extinguish the blaze. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
Fire Prevention Officer Cody Langlois would like to thank residents of The Pas for avoiding the area and allowing the fire department to do their job while they were fighting the fire and he would like to remind people to make sure that their smoke alarms are properly installed in their homes and to routinely practice their fire escape plans and its also important to stay low to the ground when exiting a building that has lots of smoke.
