The Kelsey School Division held a board meeting on the evening of May 14^th where two presentations were conducted. The Students services coordinator discussed the student services that are currently being offered by The Kelsey School division and Meaghan Dunnigan the french immersion teacher gave a presentation on the french immersion program.

Kelsey School Division Chair Vaughn Wadelius spoke to Arctic Radio News and said the french immersion program has been offered at the Kelsey School Division for the past 37 years and the demand for the program continues to grow.

According to a provincial assessment 75 to 88 percent of students in Kindergarten to Grade 5 are achieving at an above level of reading and writing in English, French reading and writing and mathematics. It was also reported that number skills are high for students at the middle school level. Wadelius says these results are very encouraging.
