Last week, The Poplar River RCMP made a drug seizure at the local airport. According to a news release the RCMP had been investigating drugs coming into the community and their investigation led them to a woman who was scheduled to arrive in Poplar River on a flight from Winnipeg.
The police met 29 year old Kayla Berens at the baggage claim area and she admitted to having illegal drugs. They searched Berens and found two packages containing 46 grams of cocaine.
Berens was arrested and has been charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking.
The RCMP is committed to enforcing laws against illicit drugs to their fullest extent.
