The Kelsey School Division held a board meeting on April 23rd. During the meeting a motion was carried to eliminate a few positions due to budget cuts. The positions that were cut included attendance officer and students services coordinator, and two half time positions at the board office were combined into one half time position in an effort to reduce the budget. Chair Vaughn Wadelius says that no one will lose their jobs from these cuts which take effect on July First.
The meeting also had a presentation by Athletic Director Wendy Cull where she gave an overview of The Kelsey School Divisions Extra Circular program and she discussed a meeting she attended where stake holders made recommendations to improve extra circular actives at the schools and how to get more students involved. Youth representative Gianna Catalano sent in a written report on student activities at the high school which was also presented at the meeting.
