Olivia McCorriston is organizing a special event set to take place on April 15th. The event will be at the Oscars Place Homeless Shelter and the goal is to show the homeless population of The Pas that the community cares about them.
McCorriston says the community has been amazing at bringing in donations of food and clothing to the shelter, but for the homeless to recover and to heal they need to know that they are cared for by using cultural support. She hopes to have a drum group, elders, a friendship dance, and some musicians at the event.
