Last Thursday, Delegates from the Halcrow Lake Golf and Country Club including course president Kevin Bernstrom spoke at The RM of Kelsey Council Meeting to voice their concerns about flood levels and flood protection for the course.
The RM of Kelsey has planned to raise the water levels at the Jory Pumping station since the Provincial Government has cut funding from the RM for pumping water. A raised water level could put the golf course and other land owners at risk of flooding.
According to president Bernstrom the flood levels last year were really high and if the course is flooded again they will not be able to afford repairs and the course will have to be closed.
Bernstrom hopes that the provincial government can figure out a way to get more funding for water pumps to solve the issue.
