Niki Ashton's Plans for 2018

Local NDP MP Niki Ashton recently spoke to 102.9 CJAR to discuss what she will be bringing to the House of Commons in 2018. According to a news release the economy is Aston’s top concern for the year. She also will be bringing forward the issue of jobs in Northern Manitoba where says it has been a difficult couple of years for the North.

She added that she looks forward to calling on the federal government to address the challenges that the North is facing in terms of unemployment and under employment and to push them to be part of the solution.

She says other key issues Northern Manitoba faces include the need of health care and pharmicare as well as continued investments in infrastructure across the country and she feels that the Trudeau Governments interest in privatizing infrastructure is the wrong way to go, adding that investments in infrastructure are needed to create jobs and improve the services that people depend on including transportation.

Parliament is set to open on January 29th
