Halloween Safety Tips from Manitoba Public Insurance

Today is Halloween and Manitoba Public Insurance has some important safety tips for trick or treaters and drivers. Trick or treaters should never run onto roadways and they should always look both ways when crossing the road. It is also recommended that they wear reflective clothing to make themselves more visible to motorists and to walk facing traffic when there is no sidewalk.

If you are driving this evening you are asked not to speed and you should to slow down when you see children walking. Do not assume children see your vehicle as they may run in front of you. You are also asked to watch for children who may dart between parked vehicles.

Reducing fatalities and injuries especially on high traffic nights like Halloween is a priority for Manitoba’s Public Auto Insurer.
