Road Closing By-Law Number 4564 Passed First Reading

A new bylaw passed its first reading at last Tuesday night’s Town Council meeting. According to Deputy mayor Brain Roque there is a lane on Crosley Avenue that does not function as lane but is on the town maps and it is designated for the purpose of a lane.

Roque added that the town received a request from a land owner of the adjoining property next to the lane that is interested in acquiring the land that the lane is on. The first step for the town is to close the lane and The bylaw identifies two things, the first thing the bylaw indentifies is that the land is to be closed and it identifies how the land is to be used after the closure.

The bylaw will be brought up again for the second and third reading at the next council meeting.
