Doug Lauvstad has been appointed as University College of The Norths new President and Vice Chancellor. He will be replacing Konrad Jonasson who is retiring after 30 years at UCN.

Lauvstad  is originally from The Pas and he brings a lot of experience to the role. He has served as Chair of the Board of The Northern  Health Authority for 10 years and was a member of the apprenticeship and Trades Certification Board.

He also holds a Master Degree in business administration and he has been heavily involved in local economic development issues throughout the north as well as education and training.

He will take over the senior leadership role on August First.
