Students Vote Similar to Adults

Alongside the provincial election, schools across the province gave their students the chance to cast their votes as well. Student Vote Manitoba is a program that sets up Election Day voting stations in schools across the province to give the students a mock election. Dan Allan the research and communications manager with student vote says it was very successful and they had thousands of students participate. Students in The Pas voted close to the same as adults with NDP Amanda Lathlin receiving the most votes, Liberal Tyler Duncan Second, followed by PC Doug Lauvstad and Green Party Patrick Wood. The goal of the program is to give students under the age of 18 experience in the political process and knowledge of voting when it comes to the next election.
