The 2016 Northern Manitoba Trappers Festival kicks off today. Most events and competitions don’t get started until tomorrow but the opening ceremonies are taking place this afternoon. The festival will officially be opened at 12:15pm at The Pas Friendship Center. Later today the Torchlight Parade will be held. Floats are asked to start lining up behind the legion from 4 to 5pm with judging held from 5 to 6pm. The parade will then follow at 6pm and will end at Devon Park. It will be followed with free hot chocolate and hot dogs.
