Green to the extreme in 2015 got off to a great start yesterday.
Opening ceremonies were held shortly afternoon yesterday with Premiere Selinger, Town of The Pas Mayor Jim Scott, OCN Chief Michael Constant, and festival Chairperson Jenn Cook all presenting opening remarks. The Premiere was then partnered up with festival Chairperson for the traditional festival log cutting which replaces the ribbon cutting ceremony done at most opening ceremonies.
The Torchlite parade was also another event that took place yesterday and today the World and Manitoba Championship Sled Dog Races begin starting at 10 this morning, with more laps tomorrow and Saturday. 1pm today is the start of the King Trappers competition at Fort Whoop-It Up with the pack race, sled pull, portage race and canoe pack.
