Manitoba Trappers Festival kicks off tomorrow
Jenn Cook, chair of the festival says one of the big benefits to our community is economics, but she adds that she feels even a bigger benefit is preserving and sharing and continuing northern tradition. The events are based on a way of life, deep in tradition and not dictated by the newest fad. Signature events include the Manitoba and World Class Sled Dog Races, The King and Queen Trapper Competition and the Fur Queen Contest.
Festival headquarters are located in The Pas Library Annex, opening tomorrow morning at 9 a.m. with opening ceremonies at the headquarters at 12:15. Tune into 102.9 CJAR, and thepasonline.com all weekend long for competition results.
