Saturday’s game belonged to the Storm from start to finish. By the end of the second period, OCN held a commanding 8–2 lead. Both teams added a few more goals in the third, but OCN cruised to an 11–5 victory, snapping Norway House’s impressive 18-game winning streak.
Sunday’s contest was a completely different story and showcased just how strong this Norway House North Stars team truly is. OCN opened the scoring with four unanswered goals in the first period, taking a commanding lead into the second.
Early in the middle frame, Maddex Long got Norway House on the board with his first goal of the night. Shortly after, Cedrick Puffault responded for OCN, restoring the four-goal advantage. However, that would be the Storm’s final goal of the game. Norway House struck three times late in the second to cut the deficit to 5–4 heading into the third.
The final period belonged to the North Stars, who poured in four more goals to complete an impressive come-from-behind victory over the league-leading Storm.
The regular season is now over for OCN. With Norway House sitting at 46 points and only two games remaining, OCN has officially secured first place and will enter the postseason as the number one seed. Their first-round opponent has yet to be determined. The regular season wraps up on March 8, with playoffs set to begin on March 11.
