The OCN Storm bounced back into the win column this past weekend with a two-game sweep of the Peguis Juniors.
Peguis came out flying in Saturday’s matchup, taking a 2–0 lead by the end of the first period. In the second, however, OCN’s power play caught fire, scoring three goals. The Storm added another even strength gino to take a 4–2 lead into the third period.
In the final frame, Keestin Danielson and Drew Peters extended the lead with back-to-back goals, giving OCN a four-goal cushion. Peguis attempted a late push with two goals of their own, but it wasn’t enough, as the Storm secured a 6–4 victory.
Sunday’s contest was all Storm from start to finish. OCN held a commanding 6–2 lead after two periods. The Storm added four more goals in the third, while Peguis managed just one, resulting in a dominant 10–3 final score.
With the sweep, the Storm gained valuable momentum heading into this weekend’s road series against the second-seeded Norway House North Stars, who are currently riding an impressive 18-game winning streak.
