Storm Pick Up Point but Fall Twice to Peguis

The OCN Storm dropped both games this past weekend against the Peguis Juniors, extending their losing streak to four games.

In Saturday’s contest, Lazarus Constant opened the scoring with his first goal of the season. Peguis quickly responded, as Ronald Murdock and Darian Sinclair fired in back-to-back goals to take a 2–1 lead into the second period. Late in the frame, Hutton Foster and Lazarus Constant struck again to give the Storm a 3–2 advantage. However, Juniors' defenceman Brody McPherson tied the game before the end of the period, sending the teams into the third deadlocked at 3–3.

Peguis came out strong in the final frame, notching two early goals. Foster and the Storm answered with one more, but the game ultimately slipped away. Tallon Sutherland sealed the win with an empty-net goal, making the final score 6–4 for Peguis.

Sunday’s matchup saw the Storm earn a single point despite falling in overtime. Peguis held a 4–1 lead by the end of the second period, but OCN stormed back in the third with goals from Cedrick Puffalt and Lazarus Constant to force overtime. Unfortunately, the comeback effort fell short as Brody McPherson recorded the power-play overtime winner, giving the Juniors their second straight victory.

The Storm return home this weekend for a two-game series against Cross Lake. Puck drop for Saturday’s game is scheduled for 7:30 p.m, Sunday's game will begin at 1:30 p.m.
