The Northern Manitoba Blizzard fell short against Virden this past Saturday to open the second half of the season. The game remained tight through much of the first and second periods, but momentum began to shift near the ten-minute mark when the Blizzard ran into penalty trouble. Virden capitalized with two special teams goals and added one at even strength to take a 6–2 lead heading into the third.
Virden added one more goal in the final frame to seal the 7–2 win. The Blizzard will look to bounce back tomorrow when they take on the Swan Valley Stampeders. As always, 102.9 CJAR will have full coverage from start to finish.
