A few high school tournaments and championships took place over the Thanksgiving long weekend.

First off, congratulations to both the boys of R.D. Parker Collegiate and the girls of MBCI for taking first place at Swan Valley Regional Secondary School’s Doug Oberlin Varsity Volleyball Tournament. The varsity boys team from MBCI also impressed during their weekend of play at Morris School’s Red River Invitational Volleyball Tournament, finishing fourth after falling short to the Morris/St. Jean (Co-Op) Mavericks in the third-place game.

Lastly, the boys of R.D. Parker Collegiate and the Hapnot Kopper Kweens of Flin Flon represented Northern Manitoba at the Provincial A-AAA Soccer Championship in Stonewall this past weekend. The Trojans dropped back-to-back games in the opening rounds, while the Kopper Kweens went on to win 2–1 in the consolation final against the Niverville Panthers.
