Several volleyball tournaments took place across the province over the weekend, with several northern schools excelling against tough competition. Two JV girls’ teams from MBCI, along with OLC’s JV girls, travelled to Thompson to compete in R.D. Parker Collegiate’s Northern Lights Tournament. In the JV girls’ final, the Hapnot Kopper Kweens defeated the Grand Rapids Wolverines, while the JV boys’ final saw the R.D. Parker Collegiate Trojans edge out the Mikisew Mikisew squad in a tight battle.
Meanwhile, MBCI’s JV boys were in Brandon for the Brandon University JV Boys Tournament. After round-robin and playoff action, the boys finished in fourth place out of thirteen teams.
Lastly, MBCI’s SV girls made the short trip to Creighton Community School, where they captured the Kodiak Border Battle title to kick off their season.
