One of the most significant pieces from last season’s championship run has cracked a WHL opening night roster after a successful tryout. Blizzard goaltender Taye Timmerman will be taking his talents to the Saskatoon Blades for the 2025–26 hockey season.
Timmerman’s play in both the regular season and postseason was nothing short of outstanding. His performance earned him Co-MVP honours of the Turnbull Cup Playoffs, shared with Dauphin netminder Cole Sheffield.
In other exciting Blizzard alumni news, defenseman Benson Hirst signed a WHL Scholarship and Development Agreement with the Moose Jaw Warriors yesterday. Hirst, who joined the Blizzard late last season, quickly made an impact on the defensive end, catching the attention of scouts and fans alike. Following the season, he also committed to Northern Michigan University to continue advancing his hockey career.
