This past Saturday, Midwest Karate in The Pas hosted their Friendship Tournament, where athletes from across the North competed against one another. The competition was divided into two categories and featured two of the three sections of traditional karate training. The Kumite portion focused on sparring, while the Kata category concentrated on pre-arranged, choreographed sequences of movements and techniques used in the martial art.
