The Oscar Lathlin Collegiate Wolverines varsity girls' basketball team placed fourth in this past weekend's Frontier Collegiate Classic in Cranberry Portage. In the opening round, the Wolverines secured a dominant 70-26 win against the Chief Sam Cook Mahmuwee Education Centre. In the semifinals, the Wolverines lost a hard-fought battle against the eventual tournament champions, the Hapnot Kopper Kweens. The Wolverines then faced the Minegoziibe Anishinabe Talons for third place but were defeated 53-21. The varsity girls are back in action next week in Swan River for the Swan Valley Co-op Basketball Tournament.
