A Historic First: Thunderbird's and Hawks Take Top Honors in Inaugural Varsity Volleyball Championship
Both varsity squads at Oscar Lathlin Collegiate are now home after competing in last week's inaugural First Nations Provincial Volleyball Championship. The championship tournament was held at Fisher River High School and featured eight schools from across the province. After three days of pool play and competitive playoff games, two teams were crowned tournament champions. The Senior Varsity Boys Ebb and Flow Thunderbirds and the Senior Varsity Girls Fisher River Cree Nation Hawks both took home gold in this historic first-ever tournament. The Senior Varsity Girls from OLC and the Senior Varsity Boys from Chemawawin Cree Nation earned silver medals after a week of intense action.
