The Nighthawks got a fast start in the first period, scoring two unanswered goals back-to-back within twelve minutes. The second period wasn't much different for Niverville. Near the eleven-minute mark, Niverville's Dawson Zeller scored his eighth goal of the year, making it a 3-0 game going into the third period.
Early in the third, the Blizzard finally got on the board after Miguel Bouvier and the power play unit netted a goal. However, not long after, the Nighthawks responded with two more unanswered goals, resulting in a final score of 5-1 in favour of Niverville.
The next day, the Blizzard played against Steinbach and had a much stronger showing. After a quiet first period, Steinbach's Jackson Kostiuk scored a shorthanded goal late in the second, making it 1-0 going into the third. The Pistons again got on the board first in the third period, near the nine-minute mark. However, Marlen Edwards and the Blizzard made a push, scoring at 14:37, but ultimately fell short with the final score being 2-1 in favour of Steinbach.
The Blizzard will play one more game tomorrow against the Dauphin Kings before heading out on a two-game road trip this weekend. Not only are the Dauphin Kings in first place in the MGEU West Division, but they're also riding a three-game win streak and are 8-3 in November. The Blizzard, on the other hand, are still in second place in the MGEU West Division but are currently on a four-game losing streak. Puck drop is at 7:00 p.m., and tomorrow's game will be broadcast live on 102.9 CJAR, with the pregame show starting at 6:45 p.m.
