The Northern Manitoba Blizzard earned three out of four points this past weekend against the Waywayseecappo Wolverines.
The Blizz got off to a hot start in the first period of Friday's game with Miguel Bouvier scoring two back-to-back goals in the first ten minutes.
Late in the first, former Blizz player now Wolverine, Griffin Ayotte, scored a shorthanded goal, making the score 2-1.
Early in the third, Griffin Ayotte scored his second goal for Wayway and sent the game to overtime.
Both teams wouldn't give an inch in the extra period which eventually led them to a shootout, Dru Mushumanski's goal was the one that ended the contest and broke a three-game losing streak for Wayway.
Saturday's game was just as competitive, the first goal came from Marlen Edwards during a power play opportunity in the second period.
Not too long after Jaxon Grosdidier and the Wolverines tied things up making it 1-1 going into the third.
Dru Mushumanski scored and gave Wayway a one-goal lead near the eight-minute mark but no more than a minute later Quincy Supprien and the power play unit chalked up a massive game-tying goal.
Shortly after Isaac Tomchak and Quincy Supprien added two more to the tally making the final score 4-2.
The Blizz play two more games here at home this Friday and Saturday against the Winkler Flyers, puck drop is 7:00 P.M. for both games.
