The Northern Manitoba Blizzard went 2-1 this past weekend on their first road trip in the young MJHL regular season.
Starting with Friday's game against the Portage Terriers, early in the first period it was the Terrier's own Adler Johnston who put Portage on the board first, after that the game was all about the Blizz.
Not too long after the Blizz responded with a goal courtesy of Lucas De la Salle, he was assisted by John Del Verne and Tyler Bernier.
In the second and third period, the Blizz scored three goals and one empty netter making the final score 5-1.
Goals were scored by Marlen Edwards, Tyler Bernier, Kelton Kellerman and John Del Verne.
The next day the Blizz traveled to Virden to play two back-to-back games against the Oil Capitals.
On Saturday it was Quincy Supprien who scored not once, not twice but three times for the hat trick, the final score was 3-1 for the Blizz.
Sunday was a different story as Virden beat the Blizz 3-1, regardless of the loss the Blizzard are tied with Dauphine for first place in the MGEU West Division.
The Blizz will now play the next three scheduled games here at home,
Friday they'll take on the Steinbach Pistons, Saturday they play against the Waywayseecappo Wolverines and then on Tuesday, October 8th they'll once again do battle against the Virden Oil Capitals.
