The Blizzard had a rough start to the playoffs against the Dauphin Kings over the weekend.
Despite outshooting the Kings 47-17 on Friday, goaltender Cole Sheffield only allowed in one Blizzard goal as the Kings took the first playoff game 2-1 against the Blizzard.
On Sunday, The Blizzard were in Dauphin for round two in a mid-afternoon game. After the Kings pulled ahead with two early goals, Cheechoo Lathlin scored the first Blizzard goal of the night and Sam Zagari scored a late one with less than a minute to go of the first period. Sebastian Hamming scored the lone second-period goal as the third period began 3-3. Jordan Bax scored a Kings goal 4 minutes and 37 seconds into the third period that was answered 3 and a half minutes later by Miguel Bouvier during a power play. The game went into overtime and the Dauphin Kings scored the game-winning goal 6 minutes in, ending the night 5-4 for the Kings.
The Blizzard now sit 0-2 in the best-of-7 series against the Dauphin Kings, with their next shot at redemption coming to The Roy H Johnston Arena Tuesday at 7 PM.
