Fifteen 2013-born players from northern communities are set to join forces and compete in two spring hockey tournaments this season.

 

The Junior Northstars head to Portage La Prairie March 29-31 to compete in the Portage Cup. The team will play two round-robin games and then the top 8 teams will move on to the playoff round.

 

They will face off against the Central Plains Red Wings and Southwest Razorbacks during round-robin play. The team will also compete in the Brandon AAA Challenge on April 25-28.

 

Details for that tournament will be announced at a later date.

 

The roster for the 2013 Junior Northstars includes Eli Chrisp, Brody Cooper, Quinn Trubiak, Aiyden Kemp, and Luke Kowbel from Flin Flon. Parker Tritthart, Burke Lehmann, Landon Colgan and Billy Melnyk from The Pas. Brock Andres, Blake Harding, Xavier Lavoie, Jake Cameron, and Kane Davis from Thompson, and Sebastian Siksik from Rankin Inlet.

 

This is the second season the team has been together and looks to build on last spring's experience.
