Storm Headed To Game Three

The OCN Storm are heading to Cross Lake to face the Islanders tomorrow in game 3 of the KJHL Playoffs. The Storm battled hard last night, with power-play goals from Keilan Holland in the first and Nathan Stevens in the second period.

In the final half of the third period, the Cross Lake Islanders got the upper hand, scoring two goals within two minutes of each other and forcing the Storm to make a tough decision in the final 5. What could have wound up a 6-4 opportunity quickly turned into a 5-on-4 as Chantyn Michele-Thompson was sent to the box for hooking shortly after Islanders Defensemen Nathan Halcrow was sent to the box, for a different hooking penalty. With Marcus Scott pulled from the Storm net the pressure was on, but it wasn't enough as Jayden Blacksmith scored an extra insurance goal, pushing the Islanders to a 4-2 lead and ending the Storm's hopes of taking the game into overtime.

The Storm are on the ice in a do-or-die match tomorrow in Cross Lake at 7:30 PM.
