Blizzard Push Closer to Oil Capitals

The Blizzard solidified their spot in the MGEU West Division over the weekend.

On Friday, the Blizzard and Waywayseecappo Wolverines had their horns locked with an exciting and quick match-up. Both teams only served two minutes in the penalty box throughout the game, allowing for a relatively smooth 60 minutes of play.

Sam Zagari opened up scoring during the first period before Ryan Jossy tied things back up in the final minutes of the period.

Early into the second period, Waywayseecappo Wolverines Captain and former Blizzard Assistant Captain Guerin Apperley scored his first goal of the season.

After a tie at the end of the second period, the Blizzard pulled ahead with an additional 3 goals, ending the night 6-3 for the Blizzard.

Sunday's game told a different story for both teams as the Blizzard faced the Neepawa Titans. Overall, there were 19 penalty calls, 11 of which went to the Blizzard.

However, that wasn't enough to slow down the Blizzard, as Sam Zagari scored twice and five other Blizzard each scored to end the night 7-2 against the Titans.

The Blizzard are preparing for their last game of 2023 as they face the Waywayseecappo Wolverines again tomorrow in Waywayseecappo.
