Blizzard Back in The Race For Second

The Blizzard earned two of the four possible points over the weekend.

After a 4-1 loss to the Selkirk Steelers on Friday The Blizzard headed to Virden to face the MGEU West division leaders again.

Marlen Edwards, who scored the lone Blizzard goal against the Steelers, also scored the lone Blizzard goal of the night against the Oil Capitals during the second period. Combined with an impressive effort from Tomas Anderson between the pipes stopping 54 of the 55 shots on goal the game was headed into overtime. Sebastian Hamming and Ashton Gallagher both scored during a shootout as the night wrapped up 2-1 for the Blizzard.

The Battle for second place in the MGEU West Division continues as the Blizzard are once again one point behind the Dauphin Kings at 30 points this season. The Blizzard can pull one point ahead of the Kings as they head to Swan River to face the Stampeders tomorrow at 7 PM.
