Blizzard keep 3 Points at Home

The Blizzard kept 3 of the 4 points possible at home over the weekend. On Friday the Blizzard welcomed the Terriers to the Roy H Johnston Arena with a victory on home ice.

Slade Stanick opened up scoring in the second period for the Terriers until Marlen Edwards tied up the game 5 minutes later during a 4 on 3 power play for the Blizzard.

During the third period Lucas De La Salle scored 7 minutes in, followed by Sebastian Hamming scoring a goal with less than a minute to go as the night wrapped up 3-1.

On Saturday The Blizzard were ahead until the final minutes of the third. After a goal from Kieran Cooke in the first and Reeve Sukut early in the third it seemed victory was in sight for the team.

However after back to back penalties late into the period Nolan Chastko scored two goals for the Oil capitals, forcing an overtime.

The Virden Oil Capitals outscored the Blizzard 2-0 during a shootout to take the night from the Blizzard.

This Friday and Saturday the Blizzard host the Neepawa Titans at 7PM.
