OCN Blizzard Stay on Top of the Titans

After a rough road trip in Winnipeg the OCN Blizzard came back with a pair of wins in Neepawa last weekend. The Team fought hard, earning 5 of 6 points against the Neepawa Titans while showcasing recent trades.

On Friday captain Riley Zimmerman and Michael Hlady scored the Blizzards two lone goals during power plays in the first period. Despite Mason Lobreau getting absolutely peppered by shots from the Blizzard the Titans held their ground until they scored the lone shootout goal, taking Friday nights win.

Saturday was a much different game as the OCN Blizzard came back with a vengeance and boy did they come back hard.

Zimmerman opened up the scoring with a powerplay goal a minute and 47 seconds into the first period, Drew peters followed half way through the period. Cade Bendtsen scored the lone Titan goal after the Titans successfully put pressure on the Blizzard through a Blizzard powerplay and minutes after.

Into the second period local product Ashton Paul scored during a power play top push away any hopes of a tie for the Titans. In the final seconds of the period Sebastian Hamming scored his first goal as a Blizzard and the last goal of the night with only 11 seconds to go before the buzzer.

On Sunday both teams hit the ice after seeing what each really bring to the table, resulting in a 2 goal tie with OCN goals from Matthew Langdon and Sebastian Hamming.

With 47 seconds to go into the overtime period Captain Riley Zimmerman scored his third goal of the weekend and 9th of the season, finishing the game 3-2 for the Blizzard.
