The Injured Returning and a Debut Appearance Help Result in a Win for the OCN Blizzard

The OCN Blizzard ended a 7 game loosing streak when they hosted the Neepawa Titans on Friday.

With the return of players like Aaron Lorenz and Amraj Gil who had spent time recovering from injuries the OCN Blizzard emergred victorious with a final score of 6-3 against the titans.

The Blizzard set the pace late into the first period when Hunter Rambow scored the first goals of the night and only goal of the first period 13:27 in, assisted by Isiah Kinnvanthong and Ryland Kuczek.

Brock MacDonald scored two goals nearly a minute appart in the second half of the second period. Ashton Paul came in with the assist for the first goal followed by Aaron Lorenz for the second.

After a nasty hit left the Blizzard without star forward Riley Zimmerman, the OCN Blizzard came at the Titans with a vengance. With multiple close shots on Titans goalie Gavin Renwick even as Zimmermans penalty was still being served. Unfortunately for the Blizzard none of these shots resulted in a goal.

Cameron Trimble scored the first goal of the night for the titans during a power play late into the period. With both teams winding down and ready for intermission Drew Peters came in with an unassisted goal during the final 39 seconds of the 2nd period with a final score of 4-1 for the Blizzard.

Rylan Gudnason and Cameron Trimble with his second goal began the third period for the Titans nearly tying the game durring the first 3 minutes of play into the third perod leaving the score at 4-3 for the Blizzard. However the near tie was short lived thanks to a goal scored by Aaron Lorenz and assisted by Amraj Gil. Guerin Apperley's first goal of the season wrapped up the night for the team, assisted by Brock MacDonald and Aaron Lorenz.

Of course, the game could have looked much different for the Blizzard had it not been for a fantastic debut appearance by former Melford Mustangs goalie Steven Bacovsky. With all eyes on him Steven stopped a whopping 45 of 48 shots on net compared to the Blizzards 38 shots against Neepawa.
