OCN Blizzard Fundraising and Support

The OCN Blizzard has been receiving a lot of support so that they can stay in OCN. Blizzard Governor Shorty Lathlin recently spoke to CJAR to talk about fundraising for the OCN Blizzard. Lathlin says there will be Chase the Ace at the Kikiwak Inn every Friday night. On game nights chase the ace will be sold at the GLMC. There will also be an $8,000 bingo on November the 4th at the veteran’s hall and a raffle for Winnipeg Jets Tickets and an ATV. The draw for the raffle is expected to take place in December.

OCN Councilor Lori Lathlin attended the annual general assembly of the Keewatin Tribal Council where she conducted a presentation seeking support for the team. The presentation was well received and the Blizzard will be getting some support from a few KTC First Nations. Broken Head Ojibwe nation is also interested in supporting the Blizzard and, Nelson House, Cross Lake First Nation have agreed to support the team as well.

Lathlin would like to thank everyone for supporting The OCN Blizzard.
