The final push is on for young women in the community who would like to participate in the upcoming Fur Queen Competition during the Northern Manitoba Trappers' Festival.

With the deadline to register just days away, Fur Queen Director Krista Tooley has some words of encouragement for those who may be interested in joining the event.

"If you know someone who's ran in the past, whether they've been crowned or not, they're really great resources to sort of give you the inside track on what to expect and like, what's going on and hopefully they'll tell you that it's a really great experience.

You know, we are really excited to get started again."
