On Monday, a Local Firefighter and member of Manitoba's Wildfire Service who was critically injured on the job, has passed away.

 

The young man, 21, was confirmed by the Thompson Professional Firefighters Association, who represent firefighters in the Northern city, to be from The Pas Area and was injured in an ATV accident.

 

A workplace safety and health investigation began immediately after the incident, and with the accident occurring on the job, the spokesperson declined to provide further details.

 

The President of the Manitoba Professional Firefighters Association Alex Forrest says " it's a sombre time for those who work in the profession in the province."
