With the news that the City of Thompson would be getting a new sobering centre, Arctic Radio reached out to Justice Minister Cameron Friesen asking if the province plans create sobering centres in other Northern Manitoba communities.

Friesen stated the provincial government will be working to create partnerships with other communities in Manitoba to provide safe and secure environments for publicly intoxicated individuals, adding that they will continue to support models that reduce public intoxication.
