Via Rail Not Expected to make Modifications to The Winnipeg Churchill Line Anytime Soon

With the announcement that Via Rail would be getting 71 million dollars to assist them with their plan to build dedicated tracks for a faster rail service in Southern Ontario and in parts of Quebec, Arctic Radio News reached out to Via Rail to ask if passenger rail service will be improved in any way in Manitoba.

According to a statement from Via Rail they remain committed to Serving Northern Manitoba Communities but they do not anticipate any modifications to the rail service in the near future.

Via Rail is expected to get a new fleet of trains from Siemens Mobility for the Quebec Windsor Corridor in the next couple of years and a modernized fleet with renovated cars is expected to make their way to various other routes outside the corridor as well.
