The Canadian and Manitoba Governments have provided grant funding to enhance the quality of child care services in the province.
A total of $538,000 was provided to 12 community based organizations that serve vulnerable families including The Pas Committee for Woman in Crisis which operates Aurora House and My Sisters House, places that offer a safe haven for woman. Each organization that obtained the funding will use it to cover staffing costs and other supportive materials.
Dawna Pritchard, the Executive Director for Aurora House says they are truly thankful to receive this grant funding and the funding will go towards a short term Early Childhood Educator Position at Aurora House.
