The RCMP ran their holiday check stop program last month here in Manitoba and according to their results over 11,000 vehicles were checked and they charged 90 people with impaired driving, 15 people for refusing to take a breath demand, and 49 people were charged with improper storage of alcohol or cannabis in a vehicle.

The RCMP also issued 30 alcohol related tiered suspensions and 2 drug related tiered suspensions.

Sadly, 5 people lost their lives in traffic related collisions during this year’s check stop program.
