Davide Novo, The President of The Pas Families Building a Better Community Group conducted a presentation at The Town of The Pas council meeting on Monday night. Novo talked about their proposal to build a spray park in The Pas and how much it would cost to run and maintain. The goal is to get approval from the town that they will take over the spray park and its maintenance once it is complete.
Novo added that they are also looking at getting some grants from a provincial funding branch called Community Places to help make the spray park a reality but in order to get these grants they will need the support of the town to maintain and operate the park.
If the town is not prepared to maintain and operate a spray park the group will continue to look at other ways to ensure that The Pas gets one built.
The Pas Families Building a Better Community group has raised a total of $95,000 in community funds to build and maintain a spray park and they will be raising more funds by having a “touch a truck event” and possibly through the Smile Cookie Campaign this fall.
